Throughout the Scriptures, and especially as seen in the life of Jesus, children have a special place in God's heart. Though God doesn't love any of us more than any other, He has reserved special blessings for the children.

Realizing also that most people who come to know Christ as their personal Savior do so before the age of 18, we at Calvary GBC are committed to children's ministries. We know that children are a blessing from the Lord. The following are some of the ways we try to assist parents in their wonderful role of teaching children about their Heavenly Father.

Sunday

Each Sunday we offer a full range of classes at all of our services. These are taught by Christians who love the Lord and children. These classes include crafts, music, activities and, of course, a Bible story. We use Christian video as well to help the children understand the Word of God and the love that God has for them.

Wednesday

From September until the middle of May we offer an AWANA program. This program is for children 3 years old and through High School. It includes Bible study & memorization, awards and games. The children have a great time! We also serve a free dinner at 6:00 for any clubber who wants to participate. Currently we have about 20 trained adults working in the AWANA program.

From the middle of May until the end of August we offer a Summer Youth Program. This program changes from year to year, but it always includes Bible study, music, games and a lot of fun.

Music Ministries

To enhance their appreciation for and skill in music we offer a number of opportunities throughout the year. Each Sunday we include music in their classes, as well as feature them periodically in the Morning Worship Service. Each year we have a children's Christmas program as well. At times we teach them how to play the melody chimes. They play for the Christmas program, in the Morning Worship Service, and at other times in the year. This is open to 3rd through 6th graders.

Junior Camp

Each summer our 3rd through 6th graders are eligible to go to Camp Albryoca for a week of Summer Camp. This is a great time of supervised recreation, Bible challenges, crafts, music and much much more.
